Jordan, Tunisia to forge closer cultural cooperation

Minister of Culture Nabeeh Shuqum on Monday discussed with Tunisian Ambassador to the Kingdom Salaheddine Jamali prospects of forging closer cultural ties between Jordan and Tunisia.
Shuqum outlined his ministry's projects and programs including a Family Library project which aims to make available for families valuable books at affordable prices in addition to a proposal to launch a comprehensive database that documents, classifies and indexes scientific and cultural, modern and old Arab books.
He stressed the importance of scientific and technical cooperation with Tunisia and other member Arab states in the project's higher committee to support and enhance it.
The Tunisian envoy said that his country was keen to take part in cultural activities in Jordan, referring to a number of festivals and cultural events held in the Kingdom.
