FM discusses with Indian minister bilateral ties, Mideast

Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh highlighted the strong ties between Jordan and India as well as keenness of both countries to further develop them in various fields.
Judeh said in a statement to Jordan News Agency following a meeting with Indian Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jyotiraditya Scindia, that it is important to build on the outcome of the visit of His Majesty King Abdullah II to India in 2006 which gave momentum to bilateral relations.
The foreign minister briefed the Indian official on the latest developments in the Middle East and efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.
He also reviewed Jordan's position on the establishment of peace in the region on the basis of the two-state solution that guarantees the creation of an independent and viable Palestinian state with east Jerusalem as its capital.
Judeh also discussed with the Indian minister means of forging closer political, economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
